Abilities: As a boy, Norman was exposed to an improved version of the Goblin formula (based on the Super-soldier serum) which has corrected his poor eyesight and hearing, enhancing them to superhuman levels. He also has strength, durability, speed, stamina and agility identical to Spider-Man. He can lift up to ten tons maximum and is immune to toxins and terrestrial diseases.
A side of effect of the serum is that Norman’s intellect has been heightened to genius-level. Through his grandfather’s notes, he is self-taught in the fields of genetics, physics, robotics and applied chemistry.
Norman also has his grandfather’s Goblin arsenal and is skilled in the use of razor-bats, pumpkin bombs, the bat-glider and powered wrist gauntlets. The Goblin’s mask also emits a “Lunatic Laugh” releases a sonic frequency that disorients most individuals.
Norman speaks English, French and Mandarin Chinese. He is an expert in brawling techniques (pressure points, dirty fighting, and joint locks) that emphasize his brutal strength.
Weaknesses and flaws: The Goblin formula has enhanced both the best and worst aspects of Norman’s personality in addition to his physical attributes. He has a hair-trigger temper and a superiority complex. Norman is also a sadist and enjoys inflicting pain, both physical and psychological.
Furthermore, Norman hates Spider-Man or any other Spider connected with him. Killing Spider-Man consumes his thoughts and will force him to alter plans just to achieve this goal.
Personality: Norman is quite charming and friendly but it hides a host of deeper issues. He is obsessed with repairing his family’s reputation and saving his company. He is also usually a hair away from committing a violent act. Usually, he can keep his emotions in check with witty banter or simply pretending to listen to someone else talk and keeping up with the conversation.
When he thinks about Spider-Man, however, and everything that the wall-crawler has done to his family, all of that anger and rage comes rushing back to the forefront and it doesn’t take Norman long to start doing something destructive.
Backstory: Normie Osborn's father, Harry, died when he was six years old. The only thing he knew was that Spider-Man was responsible. His mother, Liz, moved him to Europe where he was happy for a time, until news of Norman's return reached them when Normie tuned twelve.
The elder Norman found the boy and learned that Harry had experimented upon him, using an improved version of the Goblin Formula to test it for flaws. Normie’s version was perfected and Norman attempted to harvest it in order to fix his own formula but was driven away by Liz’s brother Mark.
Normie, now Norman, excelled in his studies and went to college in London, but the serum’s side-effects became pronounced when he killed a classmate for a perceived slight. Norman spent time going over his grandfather’s notes and working to line up new backers to restore OsCorp to its former greatness. Now, he’s returning to New York to do what his father and grandfather couldn’t: destroy Spider-Man.
